Here is a fun challenge! A deck with an amazing view but the seating area is not very inviting! What would you do to make this area more welcoming?

I love creating additional rooms outside and gaining additional square footage! Here I covered the deck area with a matienence free awning, so rain or shine you can enjoy the outside. It was completed right in the nick-of-time when it begins raining here in the Pacific Northwest! Now there is no need to watch the weather forecast like a hawk to bring in your chair cushions and pillows! Instead you can sit out under the covered area in the rain and enjoy the sound of the water!

The overall look was to be a natural light and airy feel with boho accents. I started with an outdoor rug to ground the furniture which looks like a woven grass. Even if it does get wet it will dry quickly and not mold!

I wanted it to be just as comfortable as an indoor seating area so I made sure to add a table lamp and a mirror! A lamp and mirror outside? Why not🤷🏼♀️! I thought it added a lot of additional warmth and character!

Same table as seen in the before picture above, just painted white!

I added a Chimenea which I love! Its a common outdoor fireplace used in Mexico made of terracotta. I found it at a secondhand store and thought it would add additional warmth, literally on those cold fall evenings! How fun would it be to sit out here with a hot cup of cocoa and a little fire blazing?!

Lighting is also a key component so don’t forget to add it to your outdoor spaces! The lighting makes the evenings really enjoyable with the glow of the large bistro lights, table lamp and a ball chandelier!
I hope you enjoyed this fall outdoor makeover! Please leave me a comment below!
